About me

I am Valentina Pushkareva, an interdisciplinary artist from Russia, currently living and working in Germany.

The main technique I work with is batik on silk, which I often combine with hand embroidery. I also enjoy working with watercolor, collage, and different kinds of artistic experimentation.

In my work, I often return to memories of people and places that have been, and continue to be, an important part of my life. I am interested in themes of home, family, migration, growing up, inner limitations, and the ways our past experiences continue to shape us.

Colour plays a very important role in my work. Through colour, I try to convey mood, inner states, and the emotional atmosphere of a piece. Flowers, landscapes, figurative images, and familiar everyday motifs become the visual language through which I tell my stories.
